Pink Hair Anemones
| |
|
Made with ideas from hyperbolic crochet. Tied to small pigtails for the Frida effect. ;) No pattern, just messing around.
Paper Daffodils
| |
|
I followed the directions in this YouTube video to make these:

I'm making a dozen for a Welsh-themed table at Thinking Day. It was this morning's excuse to watch a little TV. ;)

Thrifted Clarita purse, upcycled with gesso, acrylic paints, paper collage, sharpies, inks, and modpodge.
Image is of three Portuguese "mill girls" striking in Lowell MA, 1912, from the Library of Congress uploads at Flickr Commons; "pão e rosas" is "bread and roses" in Portuguese, and refers to the strikers' slogan ("We want bread, and roses too!").
SOLD 10/10.
Pink Tassle Hat, front
| |
|
Made with thrifted yarns. I call these "airport hats," because they're good to wear in crowded places (airports, parades, carnivals, amusement parks)--so visible from a distance, so memorable and easy to describe...

Snapshot for Lisa C
| |
|
She tagged me to take a snapshot of myself within ten minutes of checking out the tag--so here it is. Yes, I've been wearing this hat for several hours, even out in the world, even to pick up a kid from school (oh, the mortification).

Beet Cabbage Salad
| |
|
A magenta heart to greet February!
Beets and red cabbage from recent CSA boxes. Recipe suggested by my friend Rubi and cobbled from several online (just four ingredients: shredded beets, shredded red cabbage, garlic powder, and a small amount of mayonnaise).
I didn't think I liked beets. Now I think I love them.
Blue Child Purse
| |
|
"Above the hills, along the blue,
Round the bright air with footing true,
To please the child, to paint the rose,
The gardener of the World, he goes."

I upcycled this tan purse with paint, sharpies, modpodge, inks, and paper collage.
Image is from the George Eastman House uploads to Flickr Commons (see below).
