This was a display for open house at my daughter's school. I designed this project, which was taught to about 8000 students K-12 in 18 local schools.

These were docent (adult) projects for the 2010-11 school year. Display by the Hands on Art school chair, for Open House night.

Reconstructed top by me--built from a Merona sleeveless shirt (lowered the bustline by opening up the shoulder seams), the sleeves of a Chat Line top, and crocheted recycled cotton and silk for the collar, a tiny piece of a vintage tablecloth, and a thrifted brooch Skirt--Circle T by Marilyn Lenox (thrifted) Watch--Fossil (gift) earrings--thrifted tights--probably Target Shoes--Skechers

We're in the International Postcard Swap for Families 2011, organized by Zoe Toft of the blog "Playing By the Book": www.playingbythebook.net/2011-international-postcard-swap... We made our postcards from recycled boxes (like cereal boxes, cookie boxes, cracker boxes); all the images are historical photos of women and children, and all are from Flickr Commons. The painted backgrounds are by me, the sharpie marker parts are by both me and my daughter. There's also some rubber stamping and inking. This image of a woman and child is from the George Eastman House uploads to Flickr Commons.
