This poor man is dogged by a most peculiar shadow,
but has at least managed to disconnect his right foot.

For postmen, dogs have always been a problem.

You mean a dog has chewed his shadow!

Here is the shadow before he was reversed left-to-right (to be walking into the picture rather than out of it):

As you see, apart from facing in the wrong direction (the fact obviously unnoticed) it's the same, so no dog was involved.

So the dog was a red herring. But you've left half his shadow under a flower pot!

Don't expect much in the way of new pictures (good or bad) from me for the next 6 weeks because I began radiotherapy this week and the side effects can be diarr.

Let's hope it's just the pictures that are diarr. Have you got a good book to read?

Yes, Fanny by Gaslight. But so far I've been "done" on time and today was in and out within 25 minutes (the radiotherapy session itself takes far less time) so there's no sitting around.

Gosh, I had no idea it was so quick. If you're now feeling diarr, the question will be whether it was the treatment or the bad story line.

The time on the linac machine which does the radiotherapy is <10 minutes per session. Unfortunately, getting to the hospital and back each day takes a lot longer than that.

What story line?

Fanny by Gaslight. I looked it up on Wikipaedia and the plot seems quite horrendous.

Sorry, I was getting confused with another friend, who was having a mild form of chemo, which lasts all day. Are you allowed to drive? Hope no-one's trying to stop oil along the way.

Yes, I'm still allowed to drive, but no more weekday excursions will be possible from now until September or later.

Why is that? Are you feeling okay at the moment?

Because the appointments are (mostly) in the afternoons, and I can't attend them AND go out for the day.

I'm feeling OK at the moment (or no worse than normal) thanks. But the side effects from the radiotherapy don't kick in (I'm told) until the second week of treatment.

I've finished reading Fanny by Gaslight (I hadn't read the plot in advance) and yes, it's very sad, but she did have some very happy memories as well as bad.
