Beautiful November light.

Yes, there was, all day today. But where I was there was only so much to take and it had to be taken in a hurry. But I did manage for the first time ever to get a shot (albeit not a perfect picture) of Cookham, a beautiful village/small town but cluttered up 24/7/365 with cars.

Tell me of a village that isn't.

Castle Coombe. And, perhaps, Lower Slaughter, Bibury and a couple of others. Those preserved-in-aspic picture-postcard villages, being major tourist attractions, have (usually ginormous) car and coach parks and the "villagers''" own cars are kept off-road. But others like Laycock and West Wycombe, despite being as popular with second-homers and trippers, are nevertheless permanently cluttered up and spoiled.

I passed through West Wycombe on a single-decker bus and had great difficulty getting any shots between the parked cars, as can be seen in this D-rated picture.

Well I did manage to get a shot, and a perfectly good one at that - 51 years ago.

Fewer cars in those days, and I bet you weren't on a bus.

I've been notified by Ipernity that Isisbridge has added this to their[sic] favourites. I'm obliged to all of you, and would like to thank the others as well.

Not the main picture of Cookham, but the above one of West Wycombe.

That is understood. By "this", I was referring to the latter.

So why did you feel the need to announce this mundane event?

I was just curious to know what others, apart from yourself, constitute Isisbridge, Isisbridge having added it to their favourites.

I guess you would prefer them to use the default 'his' where the gender is unknown?

In grammatical English, when the gender is unspecified, "His" means his or her, so yes, I would prefer them to use it.

I'm generally called 'mate' or 'lad' when I let my beard grow.

Among yourselves, no doubt.
