Nice shot, but could do with more space around it.

He would. I'll pop back to Whitstable and take it again, because cropping pot is still illegal in this country.

I would say it's very nicely balanced now, but then I don't live there.

Thanks. Pots are my style though others would have me crop them and include yards of road or pavement in the foreground in lieu. The port area of Whitstable is so-so but the town centre has a wealth of Georgian buildings.

In days gone by my wife and I spent a day in Broadstairs in mid-June every year and en route stopped in Whitstable for morning coffee in a cafe near the harbour and/or fish & chips on the way home. The same cafe and (1930's) fish & chip restaurant in the town centre are both still there.

I love pots too, but the flag is the main point of interest here, and your original shot had it too low down. That's why Roy suggested cropping the pot and adding a little more pavement, to make the flag more of a focus. But you've now succeeded in doing that by adding a little extra all round. I like the way you now have the main pot balanced by the smaller one on the right, which (if I remember correctly) was missing from the original.

What's the name of the fish and chip restaurant, in case I ever go there?

If you're thinking seriously about a long bus trip to those parts, check out Whitstable first on Streetview.

Faversham and/or Canterbury may be more fruitful photographically than Whitstable, and if you want a seaside town, Broadstairs is #1 in every way.

I went to Broadstairs in 1953, but sadly didn't have a camera with me.

And that same year I went to Westgate-on-Sea, and didn't, either.

I hope you don't have to wear face masks while eating, as that would put me right off my food.
But, more importantly, do they serve the fish with mushy peas?
Howard Somerville club has replied to Isisbridge club
I doubt it very much. The picture on the website must have been taken during the Lockdown. To eat while wearing a face mask would be impossible unless a large opening is cut where one's mouth is, and that would defeat the object.

Presumably. Every fish&chip place in which I've ever eaten has done.

Here is a woman attempting that very feat (though not with fish and chips).

This is me at my 5th (or 6th) birthday party at the Wootton Lodge Hotel, Westgate-on-Sea, where we stayed in July every year.

And an old Mr Bean is annoyed. Today he was booked to participate in a local classic car "Drive it Day" but dropped out and stayed at home because the weather forecast (Accuweather, the Met Office and the BBC all being unanimous in this) was for heavy rain, which 52-year-old cars don't like. In the event, all day long there was just one brief, spotty shower.
