National Pilgrimage, Walsingham, 2022

National Pilgrimage, Walsingham, 2022
National Pilgrimage, Walsingham, 2nd May 2022

This year marked the 100th anniversary of the restoration of Walsingham's medieval shrine and its establishment as a place of Anglican worship. Since 1959 the National Pilgrimage has taken place annually, normally on Spring Bank Holiday Monday.

This was my 44th visit to Walsingham on National Pilgrimage day. The first Lockdown of 2020, during which unnecessary travel was prohibited, for me spoiled what would have been an unbroken, 45-year run of attendance.

Thanks for the A-, but after all the sunny weather last week, Monday (which I *wanted* to be sunny) was dull and grey, so special effects were needed here to liven an otherwise very dull picture. To me, some artistic licence in pictures is acceptable - a completely natural look isn't de rigeur.

You have a religious devotion to such things.

For once, I agree with Roy (about both pictures) and have done as he suggested. Photo editing isn't ideally done late in the evening after having driven home from North Norfolk, and struggling to see (indoors, using a computer screen) through dark sunglasses.

Roy seems to have moved on, to preferring tighter composition to his erstwhile holy grail - lead in.

That depends on who is pulling the strings.
He hasn't seen this one yet.
