There are pros and cons. Inevitably it will be to the benefit to some at the expense of others, but when national governments become subservient to globalisation and multinationals and are unable to control them, those governments may cease to defend the rights and serve the interests of the people who elect them.

There are plenty of people today, living in older houses, whose drinking water passes through lead pipes. But the insides of those pipes are coated with limescale which keeps out the lead.

Yes, in many ways he was, and not only in respect to globalisation. He may or may not return to office but others may pick up his torch, before it's too late. There is hope at least for that.
