Elm Hill, Norwich

Elm Hill, Norwich
A well-known cobbled street near the Cathedral. It's rare (virtually unique) to photograph a scene like this and have no eyesores to Photoshop out. Why can't the planning rules be made as strict in all historic and conservation areas?

The eponymous elm tree died and was cut down in the 1970's, but the tree planted in its place has now grown to a decent size.

Awesome idyllic street capture! I agree with the idea of planning rules for such historic areas. Stay well!

How does anyone know what they're not allowed to do and what time they can't do it?

Good question. In China there are "No", "Don't" and "Prohibited" signs everywhere, in both Chinese and English. The English is often hilarious; wish I'd kept a list of them.
