Fish & Chip Shop

Fish & Chip Shop
Middleton-in-Teesdale, England.

In Southern England, decent chips are almost extinct, usurped by the tasteless, greasy-yet-dry slivers of cardboard called "fries". But up North, proper chips are still made.

Old Owl, Berny, Andy Rodker, Marco F. Delminho and 5 other people have particularly liked this photo

You can still get good chips down south if you know where to go. Although how many indepenent fish and chip shops (as opposed to the likes of McDonald's) will be open for buiness after lockdown remains to be seen.

Or country pubs and small-town cafes, many of which were on the verge of extinction as it was. It's a tragedy.

The activities going on behind the spaces - the doorway and the windows - are interesting; small pools of light against the dully rendered walls. Most excellent.
