BA at Bournemouth (20) - 20 May 2020
British Airways B747-400 G-BNLY in storage at Bournemouth.
As of 19 May 2020, well into the coronavirus crisis, there were reported to be 40 British Airways aircraft stored at Bournemouth comprising 13 A319s, 16 A320s, 6 A321s and 5 B747-400s. To see them was a sobering and emotional sight. All 5 747s are featured in this series.
This was my first opportunity to photograph LY in Landor, one of three retro liveries applied to -400s. Tragically, it might well have been my last as the type is not expected to return to passenger service, the withdrawal under way having been accelerated by the events of 2020.
