Stadtpark Station - 23 August 2017

The Otto Wagner architecture designed for the erstwhile Stadtbahn happily survives in many places and is at its most pleasing at the wonderful Stadtpark station on line U4 of the U-Bahn. I had attempted some night shots which turned out somewhere between disappointing and embarrassing so I was pleased to capture this daytime shot between trains when the entrance was briefly deserted. I previously described the Stadtbahn architecture as 'poised delicately between ornate and simple' and I think this is clearly exemplified here.
