Zany Zebras_233 - 20 August 2016

Zany Zebras is a large scale public art event organised by Marwell Zoo and held in and around Southampton from 16 July to 25 September 2016. I have already brought 'Before Zany Zebras' and 'Zany Zebras On Parade' to this site and my extensive coverage of the event continues now with pictures from the main event. My work aims to celebrate the hard work and talent of the artists, schools, colleges and other bodies who created the zebras as well as raising awareness of the event. To achieve this I shall post full figure shots, portraits, some shots which are slightly zany in their own right and some pictures of the zebras in the city landscape.

*Zebraversity was one of several zebras vandalised during the event. All were subsequently repaired and relocated. Zebraversity later appeared in The Marlands. I made a point of photographing the empty plinths as part of providing a complete record of the event including the attempts by a tiny minority to spoil it for the majority.
