This sign is for the linguists amongst my viewers. I am always prepared to tackle a new language myself. The exact origins of Finnish are still debated and it is quite unlike the languages of surrounding countries although there are similarities in Estonian.

The sign shows just how distinctive Finnish is. The Swedish is broadly manageable by those with a knowledge of Germanic/Scandinavian languages. The Finnish, including the grammar, could hardly be further removed from the other two languages.
