Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen - 17 September 2015

One of my great pleasures online is adding pictures to groups as much for the members' enjoyment as my own. Although banks fit conveniently enough into my 'Consumer and Retail History' album, my efforts in that area are for a group elsewhere.

This discreet office with an address of pl. Piłsudskiego 2 [Piłsudski Square] is in the Metropolitan Building, Warsaw. The title 'Raiffeisen' appears in many bank names in Europe. The eponymous Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen was a key figure in the development in banking in the 19th century.
