Phone Alone (2) - 5 January 2015

This picture works, I think, as both a subject of interest and an abstract. This unusual phone, (probably a GAI-Tronics Commander), was on a telegraph pole at Calshot and I assume it is used for testing the line above. The plates above the instrument are also of interest. The higher of the two is punched with the dates the pole was tested for decay. The DP plate is a Distribution Pole number, providing the engineer with a location.
