Bomber Command Memorial (5) - 20 June 2014
The Royal Air Force Bomber Command Memorial, Green Park, London.
The memorial in Portland Stone, designed by Liam O'Connor houses a bronze sculpture of seven airmen by Philip Jackson. I very much like the detail of Jackson's figures which captures both the dedication and weariness of the men who faced a potentially overwhelming task and paid a high price for their role in victory.
