The Short Brothers - 15 October 2013
The highlight of a visit to the mostly grim Isle of Sheppey, Kent was my discovery of this joyous monument to the Short brothers unveiled only in May 2013. The brothers were amongst the first manufacturers of aircraft and part of the birth of UK aviation in 1909. The statue stands in an exposed location at Muswell Manor near Leysdown.
