An 1849 daguerreotype of Judy Telfair Jackson and her granddaughter, Lavinia. Both were enslaved and owned by the Telfairs, a prominent Savannah, Georgia family. Judy Telfair Jackson worked as the maid and cook and Lavinia was Mary Telfair's maid. Its noted that both women are well dressed, as was typical for those enslaved working in the main house.
