A lot of little towns here have railways but not necessarily a railway station. In most cases, it was converted into a "train stop", without a building or sometimes even without benches. And what's worse, always without a toilet!! ;-))) The former railway station building is used for other purposes, sometimes as a library, sometimes as an apartment building...

There is a "train stop" at Bruton about 5 miles from me, but I can never see where it goes or when it even stops!

Ah, that seems to be one of those flexible train stops ;-) There's a big city in Northern Germany called Wolfsburg, and of course it has a big railway station. Intercity trains are supposed to stop there, but for some reason they don't seem to like Wolfsburg (perhaps because of its name)?? So sometimes they just don't stop there to the "delight" of the travelers with that very destination. Well, Wolfsburg also seems to have a flexible train stop, who would have thought? ;-)))

Wenn sie denn fährt, dann muss sie eilen, um die verspätung wieder aufzuholen ;-))

Früher gab es Eilzüge. Die hießen wirklich so. Mit 'ner Dampflok vorne dran.

Das weiss ich. Ich erinnere mich noch gut daran. Ich bin ja ständig bahn gefahren, zur arbeit, in den urlaub, überall hin. Die dampfloks gab's allerdings nur noch in meinen ganz frühen kinderjahren, aber auch daran erinnere ich mich noch :-)

Solange die Züge alle auf ihren Gleisen fahren,geht alles immer gut aus liebe Edna,schön hast du deine SW Umsetzung gewählt :))

I like the black and white Edna. It suits the image and seems to accentuate all the lines. I haven't been on a train for a few years but it is a nice way to travel, no stress just watching the world go by

Exactly, Carol! That's what I thought, too :-)

Well, since I don't have a car, I always travel by train. It's not so relaxing here as the trains are almost always late, sometimes over an hour (in that case you'll get most of your money back) and sometimes they don't show up at all, so the seat reservation you made is practically meaningless. And sometimes the train stops in the middle of nowhere for half an hour or so, but in that case you can at least look out of the window and admire the scenery ;-))

Die saust so sehr, dass sie manchmal schon weg ist bevor sie eigentlich ankommen sollte ;-)))

Solange sie nicht mitten im Wald stehenbleibt, ist alles gut ; ))

Wie ich gerade Carol sagte...manchmal tut sie das. Das ist gar nicht mal das schlechteste, denn die bahnreisenden können dann den wald bewundern, entweder bequem von ihrem sittz, oder je nach länge des aufenthaltes, aussteigen und eine kleine wanderung machen.
Und die förster freuen sich auch, denn die können dann züge im wald fotografieren ;-)))

Stimmt. Man gibt immer "der bahn" die schuld und die kann gar nichts dafür. Aber die menschen geben ja öfters mal gern anderen die schuld... ;-)

Ich glaube, der Eil-Zug war immer der langsamste von allen, oder? ;-)
Da sieht man die Bahn ja vor lauter E-Wald nicht mehr...

Also früher nicht, als es noch eilzüge gab. Der langsamste war der nahverkehrszug. Wenn der zu langsam war, musste man zu fuss gehen ;-)

Stimmt! Der Ewald wartet auch auf die bahn ;-)))
