Oh wheely? & a PIP

Oh wheely? & a PIP
Close up of an old steam traction engine taken on 35mm slide film with an Olympus OM2n. The PIP of the solar eclipse was taken just a few days later on August the 11th 1999, again on 35mm slid film

Ernst Doro, Patrick Brandy, William Sutherland, Christa1004 and 5 other people have particularly liked this photo

The image quality here just goes to show how good the original must be! I love those vibrant colours and the wheel is nicely positioned in the frame. A superb capture James!

Thank you very much Keith, I also got some pics of this years eclipse as well, never meant to post any of them but someone requested to see the one from 1999.
We have an annual steam fair at Havenstreet steam railway, I used to love going there but it's a been a few years since I've been able to go.

Vibrant colours in this close-up of this steam traction engine.
And that photo you took in 1999 is great. The sun was nothing more than a slender crescent...

A great pair of photos here. Both good in their own rights. Love the closeup with all that gleaming red. Just shows that the 35mm slide technology was hard to beat.

Best Wishes. Herb

Yep I agree and I don't think digital capture lives up to the quality of film, where digital capture wins is that it is so quick, you can take a pic and print it or put it on line within minutes.
