Dragonfly ?

Many thanks Güni, luckily Keith has informed me that it is a Damselfly and has posted a link to what has happened.

Best wishes, James

It appears that another dragonfly has detached itself from its body. Best wishes, Anton.

Thank you Anton, Keith has given me an explanation and a link.
Best wishes to you have a good weekend

Great capture.

Many thanks Don

I think this is more likely a damselfly as dragonflies cannot fold up their wings like this. It mates by attracting itself to another damselfly just behind the head as you can see here. It seems as though the mating has been violently disturbed..!!

This is a cracking photo though, with a sad story behind it. Well seen and taken James.

Your good looks and talent as a photographer are exceeded by your knowledge :-))
Many thanks for the comment info and link.
It may have been a tragic ending but what a way to go ;-)

Ha, ha.........I don't think I've ever been accused of having good looks :-))

But I do watch a lot of nature channels on the box!

There's a first time for everything :-)

Awesome shot!
