No idea sorry. There's a plaque, but it doesn't state how long ago it was a live tree. It looks real enough, and is made of wood.

This is a wonderful idea - it does look like it was a living tree there at one time, but now instead of felling it, they have carved it, because the holes are needed for the bees. A great way of helping nature and yet still making it so interesting
