Wintergoldhähnchen

You did well to get a shot of these shy, fast moving and beautiful little birds. I've been trying for years!

Today I've seen again two of them. Distance 2m - but impossible to get a pic.

But today, the first time in my life I worked with ISO automatic with setting a limit of ISO1600. And what shall I say? It worked greatly - finally I had no need to adapt the parameters new every then and now. Or forget doing it ... But of course, my "model" today was rather the opposite of yours: a lurking heron. ;-)
Anyway, during a rather gloomy day, I could act with f8 and up to 1/800 sec - of course with ISO 1600. But mordern cameras and software easily can handle that.
Highly recommended.

I hope I will soon find time for these smaller birds too.

Yesterday I've tried nearly the same parmameters. But NOT with those birds! They always seem to be on speed. And with all the branches around, it's too much for the AF...
