Ceske Budejovice
Best known for the original Budweiser beer, Budweiser Burgerbrau, Ceske Budejovice (or Budweis) is a city of 96,053 people by the 2009 census, which actually predates the beer by several centuries. Black Tower, Ceske Budejovice, Budejovicky Kraj, Bohemia(CZ), 2005
The Black Tower, or Cerna Vez (I think) in Czech, connected to St. Nicholas Cathedral, was constructed in 1550-1577, and is about 72 meters high. It is possible, for a fee, to go up to the top.

Even Ceske Budejovice has rail attractions, the primary ones being the old Autro-Hungarian train station, Hlavni Nadrazi, behind this locomotive, and of course this locomotive itself, ex-CSD #310.076.

Namesti Otakara II, Ceske Budejovice, Budejovicky Kraj, Bohemia(CZ), 2005
Also known as Premsyl Otakar II Square, or simply the Old Town Square in English, this is the old town square of Ceske Budejovice. The tower in the background is the so called "black tower," or "Cerna Vez," I think it translates into Czech, built in the 16th Century. The fountain, Samson's Fountain, is of similar vintage to the old town hall being built in 1721-1726.
