CD Muzeum, Luzna u Rakovnika, CZ
I visited the Ceske Drahy Muzeum at Luzna u Rakovnika on the weekend of October 16th-17th, 2010. Although I took a number of Ektachrome slides on the second day, and video on both days, these are reserved for my NRHS show since they're my best material. The shots in this album are from my cameraphone, which were my backup plan, also intended for display on iPernity.

Many of the cars on our train had steam heat, however, but many had steam heat but no diaphragms, meaning that I could get cool shots of the steam flowing up from the leaky hoses.

Here's an interior shot of #Be-3979, one of the old-fashioned wooden third-class coaches on our train.

From the front end of the train, it was possible to get closeups of the Albatros's boiler front, as the locomotive was coupled on the train backwards.

Here's one of the steam radiators. These may look strangely crude, but this same type of finned piping is used to make radiators in many Czech buildings too.

This was the next day after my trip on the 16th. I did this trip to shoot slides (as my camera batteries had died on the 16th), and to chase the steam train back to Prague. This is a streetside view of Nadrazi Luzna u Rakovnika.

This is the satirical obituary I mentioned earlier for the Luzna ticket office.
"As her beloved mother's eyes are dripping tears over the last ticket as the end of last light goes out in the closed window...
With deep sorrow we announce to all our friends and loyal passengers, she has passed away from us our dear and beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother.
The Personal Ticket Window
of the railway station at Luzna u Rakovníka.
Inflicted on us suddenly without reason, or fault of our own on September 27th, 2010 at the age of nearly 140 years.
May the wishes of the deceased's last goodbye take place quietly in the circle of the last few survivors.
On behalf of the afflicted survivors:
the railway station staff at Luzna u Rakovníka and the traveling public."
