Although Masarykovo Nadrazi hasn't been given as much corridor upgrade work as many other stations, it is nevertheless getting a little bit of attention in the form of the new trainboard and whatever that scaffolding on the canopy is for. I expect that there will be more work soon, but what it will entail I don't know.

In April, Cercany's upgrade project continued apace. This Praga mobile crane has been there for a few months, although I don't know what it's being used for. It's interesting to me just because of its advanced age.

With the old coal bunkers and other structures to the north of the station knocked down, the Class 810 railbuses running services to Sazava and other outlying towns now sit in the open as they wait, and are easier to photography from the street.

I have also seen this heavy crane at Cercany at least once. I'm assuming it's not for wreck cleanup, since the boom doesn't look long or curved enough, but judging from the other cars in this consist I'm assuming it was used for rails or prefabricated track.

As always, there are still a number of old diesel locomotives sitting around the Cercany yard. 742086-2 is still in CD colors, but the logos have been removed from 751004-3, so I don't know who its current operator is.

In spite of the diesel locomotives rumbling around the yard on this particular day, the regular local trains from Prague were mostly being terminated in Senohraby, with replacement buses connecting passengers to points south. Most of the buses were old Karosas like this one, borrowed from DPP. Technically, Cercany isn't in DPP's territory, although it is in Zone 2 of PID. I don't really understand DPP's numbering system for buses. I have to assume it's seperate from the trams when it comes to vehicle numbers and not service numbers, as technially 7226 should be a Tatra T3SU tram if the system were universal.

Nadrazi Senohraby has been more or less completely modernised during the corridor reconstruction project, and is more or less complete. In its current form, it's virtually unrecognisable, given the steam-era mudpit that it used to be, although the steam-era station building has been retained.

This is one of the newer Metro stations, built aboveground in 1998 (although the Metro tracks are in a tubular bridge), at Rajska Zahrada, on Linku B (the yellow, or B line). It's only one stop from Cerny Most, the Eastern terminus.

This is another shot of Slapy, this one taken from a road that runs through the mountains above it. This was taken while riding with a friend who is especially fond of this vantage point.

Later during the Slapy trip, we had to stop at this crossing. Regrettably, I don't remember where this was, as I consider this one of my favorite train photos this year. The location is made especially mysterious by the fact that the nearest electrified line to Slapy is the Prague-Ceske Budejovice mainline, which doesn't have too many City Elephants running on it yet.

For the 35th anniversary of the Prague Metro (or at least some anniversary or another, as I've looked up one source that claims the Metro started operations in 1974), DPP got their oldest Metro train out of storage to do some commemorative runs, and miraculously, it seemed to make it through the day without being trashed, unlike a second-generation train on its recent last run. Being Russian-made, these trains were originally designed for the Moscow Metro, and similar trains can also be seen on the Budapest metro.

This is the builder plate of the old Russian Metro train. While the Krylice may be hard to read if you don't know Russian, note that the date of construction was 1976, meaning that while this train is much older than what's running now, it wouldn't have been one of the original ones from 1974.

This was another lucky spotting of historic tram #349, which looked to be running a charter on this particular day, rather than service #91.

This was taken after the train was already on the way to Lanskroun, where me and some of my friends were going to attend an outdoor festival for Carodejnice (more on this later). This was my first good shot out of the train window, at Prelouc.

This was in Pardubice Hlavni Nadrazi. One thing that I learned while researching these captions is that Pardubice, contrary to what many people think, is in Bohemia, rather than Moravia, as only the Southeast of Pardubicky Kraj is actually in Moravia, meaning Brno, Olomouc, Zlin, Prerov, Vsetin, Prostejov, Trebic, Jihlava, Kromeriz, Znojmo, Ostrava, Frydek-Mistek, Sumperk, and Uhersky Brod.
