IMO...I find the two very different shades of blue to be a wonderful frame to the central image. The solitary unfurled sail amidst the naked masts is a nice touch and I personally have always preferred a ripply reflection like this to a calm one. The golden hint of sun on sail, boat and dock is also beautiful and would have liked to have seen more light on the buildings. New to critiques...hope this is o.k.

Hi Colette. Ah, to be around unfrozen water. I like the blue colors as they really speak to water and I like the wavy reflections in the water. I wonder what effect a different cropping would have had, such as vertical or putting the sail boat in the right third of the frame. The items currently on the right of the picture are not as interesting and the lighter dock is distracting. I think that it would be interesting to take the same photo at a time of the day when the boats were illuminated by the sun. I don't know what effect though, that would have on the water, which is lovely in the present lighting. Keep up the good work.
