It was my first visit to Mayen, birth place of my paternal grandfather, and I think by pure chance I passed by this place, took some pictures and along the way discovered a really nice restaurant (Hammesmühle, in case you come along this place), just a few steps from where this pictures was taken.

Cologne's arch bishop Clemens August I had this palace built in the early 18th century. Along with the smaller Falkenlust palace, Augustusburg is a UNESCO world heritage site. Unfortunately, it is not allowed to take pictures in either of the two palaces.
