Thank you, Janet. Actually, the term "Schloss" is more frequently associated to palaces (castles sometimes are refered to as "Schloss", more frequently however as "Burg"). I think Gracht is more of a small palace - among the people born there, by the way, was the 13th US secretary of the interior, Carl Schurz.
