How do I change my login email address?

← Back to Index Login with your old email address and then pursue the following steps: 1) Select "Your account settings" from the drop-down menu (☰) next to your name. ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ 2) Click on "change" just below "Your login email address". ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ 3) Fill in your new email address and password. Then click on "Add the email address". ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ 4) An email will be sent to your new address with directions on how to validate it. Once validated you can use your new email address to login to ipernity.

Then click on "Change my password".

Can I login with my Google, Facebook, Yahoo or OpenID account?

← Back to Index Currently some of the alternative login options do not work. Because the social media services constantly change their login API keys, it is recommended that you use email login only. Currently the ima team is reconsidering whether to remove alternative login options or update them in the future.

How do I upload photos and other content?

← Back to Index There are different ways to upload content at ipernity. A) Desktop browser - Uploader Log in to your account and then click on "Upload" at the top. ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ In order to choose photos or other documents for upload either drag them to the upload area (1) or click on "+Browse computer" (2) and choose them with the file explorer. Optionally you can choose an existing album (3) or enter the name of a new album (4) that your photos shall be added to. Furthermore you can optionally add one or several keywords (5) to all selected photos. For all selected photos the intended privacy setting is indicated below the photo (6). By clicking on the privacy setting of a photo you can change this setting. This can be for the individual photo, or you can choose to apply the new privacy setting to all photos that are uploaded. Click on "Upload" in order to start the upload process. Depending on the number and size of the selected photos and your internet connection the upload process can take some time. The progress will be shown. ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ Once the upload is finished you will be asked whether you want to add descriptions or access your photos. If you click on "add a description" a new window will appear where you can add and change titles, descriptions and keywords of all newly uploaded photos. B) Desktop browser - Uploading from album pages Go to one of your album pages. Select "Upload photos to this album" from the "Tools" menu. Then follow the instructions given under "A) Desktop browser - Uploader" above. The album from which you came is already pre-selected. So you can omit steps 3 and 4. C) Upload with Android app Touch the upload symbol at the top right. ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ In order to choose a folder on your Android phone use the selection menu at the top left. Then tap on one or several photos. Tap on "Next" in order to proceed with the upload of the selected photos. ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ Enter and edit titles, descriptions, keywords and other meta data. In order to finish the upload tap on "Upload".

Is the amount of content that I can upload or publish limited?

← Back to Index Yes. The precise limits depend on your subscription plan. Standard package No limit with respect to the total number of photos uploaded and no monthly upload limit. But storage for all your content is limited to 100 GB. With typical file sizes that is enough for several 10,000 photos. File size is limited to 500 MB. If you need more storage you can buy additional space. Basic package Total number of photos uploaded is limited to 2,000. Storage for all your content must not exceed 5 GB. There is a monthly upload limit of 200 MB. File size is limited to 2.5 MB. Free guest account Total number of photos uploaded is limited to 20 and file size to 2.5 MB. Thus total storage used for your content may not exceed 50 MB. For a complete overview of the different limits look here .

Which type of documents can I upload?

← Back to Index Because ipernity is primarily a photo sharing site you can upload a lot of different image and video file formats like JPG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, or AVI, FLV, WMV and MP4 that ipernity adds to the photos section of your account and displays as image or video respectively. Further more it is possible to upload files of many other file formats. All files that are not recognized as image files or videos by ipernity will be shown in the "Docs" section of your account. Select "Docs" from the drop-down menu (☰) next to your name to access those files. The list of files that may be uploaded is extensive and includes many popular types. You can simply try. Only if your file is rejected you will have to think about converting the format.

Can I hide my name, my age, my details?

Can I restrict who is able to view and download my content?

← Back to Index A) Change the account default settings for "Authorization and license" The default settings affects only new uploads made after the new settings are saved. 1) Select "Your account settings" from the drop-down menu (☰) next to your name. 2) Click on "Photos and other content", and set the default for all of your contents. 3) Next to "Maximum quality, download, embedded code" click "Edit the rules". ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ Set for each category of visitors the highest quality photos and videos that you offer them. B) Change authorization and license for a single image 1) Click "change" next to section "Authorizations, license". 2) Change "Authorizations" and "License" on separate tabs. C) Change authorization and license for multiple images 1) Click on "Organize". ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ 2) Open "Edit these items" menu and choose either "Authorizations" or "License". If you wish to implement the change only for selected images, hold "Ctrl" key down while clicking images for the selection.

The copyright infringement notice should always be done by the legal copyright owner. You can of course inform your friends and contacts if you suspect their copyright has been infringed.
