Itinerant wood-fired pizza oven. This pizza oven is on a wheeled trailer, and the pizza maker travels among carnivals, country fairs, and craft shows. (Looking at the reflections in the burnished copper, I believe there is an inter-galactic alien waiting for his/her/its pizza.)

, Jean-luc Drouin, Ulrich G, Pat Del and 10 other people have particularly liked this photo

Wow!! That is so cool! The picture is fascinating on the one hand and I love the metal with its reflections and colors. To know that he pushes that thing around...WOW!! That's just crazy! :D Also, I learned a new word: "itinerant" : traveling from place to place... I mean, I know the word "itinerary" but I didn't know of any other forms! Thank you!

Hi Wally

I really like this, especially the reflections in the copper

Superb colours and Great composition too.

In England we have many of this kind of trader who visit fairs and the like, sell decent food, and make an honest living. We also have itinerants, who travel around a lot, camp where they are not wanted, leave loads of rubbish behind. and steal things....!!

Best Wishes, and a good weekend

I worked with an old stone oven making pizzas for a summer holiday job in the South of France (1977). I piled in the wood at 8 a.m., lit it, and cleared out the embers at about 5 p.m. The restaurant only opened for the evening and the stones stayed sufficiently hot to cook the pizzas quickly right up to last service at about 1 a.m.!
Didn't serve any aliens as far as I know!
Fine capture!

Beautiful image. Found just a few places where they still use the wood to bake the pizza
