It says on the monument: To the valiant companions of Russian Generalissimo Count Alexander Suvorov, who died when passing through the Alps in 1799. (thank you Konstantin for translating)

Yes, indeed this region is interesting, from the historical point of view as well as from the geographic view, which I wanted to show, if ipernity wouldn't close down. The region here is a very special watershed. Depending on the waterdrops falling within a few miles, they finally arrive at the North Sea, the Mediterranean Sea, the Adriatic Sea or a little bit further off at the Black Sea.
