Porto 1 - barco rabelo
The rabelo boat is a traditional Portuguese wooden cargo boat that was used for centuries to transport people and goods along the Douro River.
Its history is closely linked to the production and trade of port wine. Before the arrival of the Linha do Douro railway, the rabelo was the fastest and the most efficient means of transport between the Douro Valley, where port wine is produced, and the city of Porto, where it was traded and exported worldwide.

Porto 2 , linha 1 tram,
This gentleman was actually not on the tram , but off…standing on the steps.
Better enlarged, perhaps.
tile bench, Olhão
This is one of the four benches in a public park in the centre of Olhão. The blue tiles ( azulejos) - a characteristic Portuguese art - depict significant places and events in Olhão.
Maybe better enlarged.
Marvão … and me !
Marvão is on the highest peak of the Serra de São Mamede, not far from the borders with Spain.
I was fascinated by its medieval castle, by the old narrow streets , the wrought iron balconies , the so many white houses… and by its unique atmosphere.
