Oh yes!!!!! I remember it well. A worthy Pano winner. What did you win BTW? So good to see this one again dear Nick.

Hi dear LGM ~~~ Thank you for reminding me ~ Do you know that I haven't a clue as to what I won, it was three things I think, all useful to photographers perhaps but not to me ~ the thrill of winning was sufficient for me.

Thanks for your compliments. Have you had sufficient rain now or your garden?

There is a race later today ~~~ Enjoy your Sunday x

A smidgen of rain today - not enough, and the wind has dried everything up again. At least I managed to shampoo the dining room carpet on Friday and it all dried very quickly.

WOW! A fantastic shot, Nick!
I remember I had one shot on Pano that achieved an astonishing number of vsits and it really wasn't all that special There was a logical reason, something to do with it being used as a tourist photo but I never did understand it! I posted it on ipernity and it garnered a far more modest number of visits! I'll post it below.

Hi Andy, do you remember that popular images used to get bigger thumbnails on google earth, although quite how they got to the first hurdle I'm not sure. In your case probably it was to do with it being a landmark and perhaps you were the first one there so to speak. It is a great image and deserves to be viewed.
As to my one, it was entered into the monthly Pano competition, landmark section if I remember correctly. It is all a bit fuzzy now
Panoramio would work in fits and starts, sometimes the daily viewing figures would be impossibly high, whilst sometimes the opposite was true, especially towards the end ~~~

Yes, I recall it was confusing at times - much more logical and systematic here on ipernity now that it's run by its members! Long may it continue!

Hi dear Sarah, thank you for your hugs and words of sympathy, the suddenness of it all was a shock. It was of course inevitable at some stage, but a blessing no doubt for all concerned.
She was a remarkable lady who remained true to her beliefs and promises.

Nick Weall club has replied to Roger (Grisly) club
Hi Roger ~ all a bit of luck really, I already had my camera on a sturdy tripod outside on my balcony looking for the evolution of the scene as the early morning mist gradually lifted, we I heard the honking of the geese on the wing ~ so I just had time to switch it on and start clicking.

This shot was the first of a little series and was the only shot to have the geese all one side of the spinnaker tower.

Well Nick, you have excelled yourself with this one. A wonderful moody misty picture in the style that I love and once took a lot of. The inclusion of the geese were inspirational! A great 'Ambassador' for Ipernity. ⭐

Hi Keith ~ Thank you very much for taking the trouble to visit and add your compliments ~ it was just a luck shot really ~ the geese let me know that they were coming with their honking ~ the rest is history and reminds us all how good Pano could be for all of us.

Thanks again and enjoy the rest of your week
