I've heard great things about this museum and always wanted to go but the number of times I've ventured further north than, say, Bedfordshire these past 10 or more years is ... 0 ...! To my shame!
Perhaps the last time was for the Headingley Test in 2001 when Mark Butcher scored a terrific century on the final day to beat the Australians against all the odds. I drove up to Leeds with a mate having decided the night before that it might be worthwhile to do so. It was!! We left London at sparrowfart and made it just in time for the first ball bowled (a few balls later and Atherton was bowled for 0 and we thought we had wasted a journey! But it then all changed for the better!).
The next 2-3 weeks saw England amazingly beat Germany 5-1 (in Germany!) at football followed by the horror of 9/11 a week later. I recall this test match and the football match with bittersweet feelings as the end of an era.
Sorry for rambling on but good photos can stir the memories like this!!!

Hi Alan

A great day out here by the looks of it. Plenty of blue sky, and lack of other visitors to get in the way. The scene could have been a hundred years ago!! I like it

Best Wishes
Peter
