Cornwall 2022/2023

in Pink Moors, Vogue, St Day. No longer a creamery but they still milk their cows here. The market for Cornish clotted cream is dominated by Rodda's, just up the road in Scorrier. I don't know but this farm's milk possibly goes there for processing. I like their yellow door!

The camellia bush is getting into its stride. My Mum's garden again (and again a shot taken from inside the outside loo.)

The first of two HFF shots today. Why do these barriers have to be so utilitarian and plain ugly? (utilitarian I get but why so ugly?) Shot of the Manor work shop. Not quite sure what they did in there, the plaques on the walls are normally descriptive but perhaps even the local historians don't know! The top of the market square clocktower can be seen above it. Low light again. Sorry, but that's the only time of day I'm aloud out of the house for good behaviour!

Low light again. The fields around Pink Moors and the path I often take on my constitutional (around 5-5:30 each afternoon / evening.)

A very overgrown hedgerow obscures much of my view from the lane I take but a slight gap here revealed these horses and a view to Chapel Street with Carn Marth behind. Another low light shot. If I stay here much longer then two things will happen, my girlfriend will get just a little bit fed up if she isn't already ... but at least the shots will get brighter! A little better on large. Couldn't resist again! Camellia bush at or neai its prime. And the abutillon on the left has been flowering determinedly all winter! Interesting ... the map has my parents living at The St Day Fryer! This chippy was wonderful and only a few doors down from us. Every Friday evening my mum used to take a break from cooking and we'd get a fish supper in. Sadly it closed about 10 years ago! Another very dull day today but I feel it can give a semi-mystical feel - sometimes! (Marginally better perhaps on large).

A well-named alley (or 'ope' in Cornish) in the middle of Old Truro. The pleasant-looking building is the Old Grammar School, now a bar.

I don't know the name of this tin mine. I was sent on an unexpected detour by roadworks and came across quite a number of old mining structures that I knew were there but hadn't visited for about 25 years. I'll try and find out. I have a few more tin mine ruin shots to post in the fullness of time! Later add on. I think many of the mine buildings hereabouts fall under the name of Wheal Busy. But I could be wrong.,

Not wanting to be left behind it's now madly trying to catch up! Behind is the roof of the vast Primitive Methodists' chapel, Now a warehouse.
