HANWE Everyone! Lane near St Day. ... And a tree trying to escape!
Another low light offering on my constitutional walk at this time of day. The days are starting to get longer so I can start to use the unlit back lanes and paths at last. I would hazard a guess that this lane is very ancient indeed!
I just liked this overhanging tree.
View on large for a rather spooky twilight effect.

Schiller obv knew what he was talking about. He also wrote about the 13th century in Germany; 'These terrible times, these frightening times' - but, sorry it's too long ago. I think it was about Hohenstaufen / Guelph internecine warfare. But I may be wrong.

Yes I can see that it is probably rather ancient etc. I have a lane at the top of my road, called "Scatchyface Lane" - but it's not as slim as this one. Brilliant photo, especially on large.

I don't think it's a traditional, ancient holloway, Ernst but it does have some of those characteristics and is undoubtedly very ancient. Many thanks.
