Wow, that is fantastic Andy! I've been in North Yorkshire and the weather has been amazing up there. October is often a good month for a holiday, as long as you don't like it too hot...that's me!

I heard somewhere (not on ipertinity surprisingly) that the North East experienced a fabulous sunset!
I'm noto n holiday at all, Rosa. I was the only family member who had the time to respond to a situation where my dad is in a stroke rehab unit and my mum, despite her many skills still, has become confused by things that are not in her day to day routine - and she needed help. My oncologist allowed me to fly (he had said no up to this pont because of the high risk, but I receved a brand new vaccine for immune-compromised, co-morbidity people like me!) So here I am! My brother who lives in London but has a second home in Cornwall, and who has retired, would be the obvious candidate but he is the early stages of recovery from a bowel cancer operation and my sister has used up all her holiday time on earlier visits to my parents. So it had to be me! My girlfriend has health issues with her mum and couldn't be with me and in some ways, I feel that this is perhaps not a bad thing!

I knew you weren't on holiday Andy. It is a difficult time for you and your family. It sounds like you have a supportive family and I hope that your girlfriend's health issues can be resolved. I know that you have been through a very bad time, so to be able to fly is a step forward. Not easy when you live in a different country. I hope all goes well, or as well as can be expected.

Very dramatic. It’s been all sorts of weather for us today including a thundering hail storm which just caught us back from my sister’s Covid Seasonal Booster jag. I was thinking our sky might look a bit like this at sunset but no.
