Typical Sierra de La Cabrera rock formations! Yes, I did try to rock it and yes, it doesn't budge an inch!

Superb granite contortions! La Sierra de La Cabrera, EL Cancho Largo in the background, the highest point in the sierra at 1,563 m. So not a giant but because it is isolated from the main ridge and rises directly above the plateau to the north of Madrid, it seems much taller! Anyway, at 5,128 feet it knocks spots off Ben Nevis! l

Andy Rodker club has replied to José Manuel Polo clubI don't know. The Sierra rises above the town of La Cabrera, whose name could have originated from the Spanish for goat.

Have a lovely day.

Andy Rodker club has replied to Rosalyn Hilborne clubThe villagers place their hives in these out of the way places to keep them away from thieves! As you can't see these boulders, let alone the much smaller hives, from the path, which is in itself indestinct and little used, the location for the hives is perfect!
They also move the location of the hives every few years to stay one step ahead of the thieves. I see the hives in other equally well-hidden locations in the Sierra.
It's a wonder the bees don't get confused! :o)
