San Lorenzo de El Escorial.
Part of the western facade. Mount Abantos and the town of San Lorenzo de El Escorial provide the backdrop below a Mediterranean sky (although nowhere near the Med!).

Andy Rodker club has replied to Jenny McIntyre clubWhen I first came to live in Spain, I was bowled over by the constant bright blueness of the sky! I was too enraptured and began to take far to many photos of it; being English, that is a natural reaction!
However, It's a bit like a mint chocolate with your coffee after a meal. One or two are just right, but a dozen or more would start to cloy!
A few members on Pano started to say (politely, in the main, of course) that they were getting a tad bored with the sameness of my shots; all granite and blue sky and I realised they were right! I started to prefer photos with some cloud for variety. As it happened my first year here was a particularly dry one and the skies have been much more varied since, to my relief and to the relief of the Spanish who would rather prefer not to have drought conditions as prevailed in the first half of 2011!
