Poppies, May 2016
Near Algete, Madrid Province. I normally go for a walk here with my sister's family when the poppies are out, but there weren't any in 2017 and 2018

What grew instead the poppies?
Andy Rodker club has replied to Leon_Vienna clubThe poppies quickly take over when the fields are left untended as can often happen when the old generation of farmers dies off and no one is prepared to continue the gruelling work! Maybe the farm changed hands and the poppies were eradicated to bring the land back into pruduction.
All just guesswork!
