Cross by the monastery wall.
Marks the start of the steepest path to the summit of the sierra. I have done it twice going up in high summer. and many times coming down. I enjoy all the paths in the sierra, up and down, but going up this one is more of a challenge. Not just because it is steep in places but because it is awkward and very crumbly where you don't want it to be! I don't mind steepness and exposure, but a crumbly steep path gives me the heeby-jeebys!

Ever since, I have been afraid of crumbly trails. Anyway, I like the wall in your photo, I want to see more of it!
Andy Rodker club has replied to Diane Putnam clubI do have a few more of the wall, maybe not this close up but I will have a hunt in the archives and show one or two over the next few weeks.
