The lonely path

The lonely path
La Sierra de La Cabrera. It was a bank holiday in Madrid on Tuesday. I went for a walk in this beautiful area. This is the main path running alongside the main ridge for its entire length. It was perfect walking weather. I met no-one all day!!

Gudrun, micritter, Nouchetdu38, RHH and 35 other people have particularly liked this photo

Stunning views from up there Andy.............I really like all the different shapes and sizes of the granite. It almost looks as if it's been quarried and not shaped naturally!

How wonderful to have a good long walk and not meet anyone............

Agreed on all fronts, Keith.
There is evidence of very early quarrying in these mountains but not here.

Thanks Peter - satisfyingly close to Madrid. An escape form the City needn't be a logistical hassle!
Best wishes,
Andy

No. She doesn't walk in the mountains. She gets vertigo and hated the 2 times she came here with me. I was perhaps too keen to show her some interesting stuff. Perhaps I overdid it. We do walk together but in town and on flat ground only and I often don't feel the need to take photos, especially as she hates it if I delay her or she thinks I'm going to take a crafty shot of her!
This is my first walk here in a year Fred! But that's not her fault - it is my painful feet and toes - side effect of diabetes.
