Wow! What a wonderfully colorful eye candy and great color combination. The yellow genista (or called "broom"!?) glows fantastically in the sun!

This is not broom / genista, but gorse. They are easily confused: same family; Fabaceae, and similar colour (although gorse can be a brighter yellow in favourable conditions) but there are differences in flower and leaf shape. Gorse tends to do better in coastal locations.
Both do well in the granitic /acidic soils of Cornwall and the Mountains of Central Spain. I see both in Spain, gorse first (in flower April to June), followed by broom in profusion (- in flower June-August), whereas I see the latter rarely in Cornwall. The gorse can flower all year round in Cornwall if the conditions are right.

Hello Andy, many thanks for your interesting explanations. Yes, I also meant "gorse"! It was an translate error. The Google translator translate the German word "Ginster" it in the English word "broom". And when I entered the German term "Ginster" on Wikipedia and clicked on the English Wikipedia translation, gorse is called "Genista". A gorse maze! ;-)

I was once in Ireland. At that time the gorse bloomed so wonderfully there too!
