Griffon vulture on El Cancho de La Bola, Sierra de La Cabrera.
I know I've said this before and I know one or two of you don't like the thought but this granite boulder is only white because of 10,000 years of guano!

No smell, Nick. The guano stains of 10,000 may remain but the high winds of the Sierra dispose of the most recent smells!

Even though I rarely comment, I enjoy you r three fotos a day very much - those from the UK as well as those from Spain. Keep on going!

Andy Rodker club has replied to Erhard Bernstein club
I commented 'tongue in cheek' as English has it, Erhard!
There are days when I am too busy and/or have got too far behind when all I can do is mark a yellow star and move on, even when I would like to add a comment!
But thank you for your support; very much appreciated!
I might have to reduce my shots to two or even one a day as I am running out of archive material and I can't get out to the country to take replacement / new shots at the moment due to a long running foot problem. I am hoping this will improve by May when I want to get some Spring shots from the mountains again!.
Best wishes,
Andy

Guano is the best fertilizer. Peru got rich with it From Wikipedia: The Guano Era refers to a period of stability and prosperity in Peru during the mid-19th century. It was sustained on the substantial revenues generated by the export of guano and the strong leadership of president Ramón Castilla. The starting date for the guano era is commonly considered to be 1845, the year in which Castilla started his first administration. It ended shortly after the war between Spain and Peru in 1866.

Oh Andy, I feel with you. I took 50 years care of our garden... Now I take care of my plants on my windowsill, in a small two room apartment.
Andy Rodker club has replied to Eva Lewitus club
Not even that! I would appreciate some herbs and flowers in window sill containers but no such luck! I have a flat with interior light and although it's on the 3rd floor of 6, doesn't give enough light for plants with the exception of two spider plants and a few pothos.
