It's from somewhere of the Monte Bré / Cardada, isn't it? Losone in the foreground, the Isole di Brissago and the Monte Sirti in the background.
I haven't been in Ticino in 2017! I hope it will be possible this year...
Wonderful weather on Christmas Eve!

Buongiorno Poly, you're right. There is a less known trail from Monte Brè to Cardada. Instead of taking the normal path in Miranda (where you have to park) you continue on the narrow road in the forest. After a few hundred meters it turns into a dirt track. You continue to the Monti di Monteggia where you leave the track. From there, a trail leads to Alpe Vegnasca from where a steep path gets you to Cimetta and Trosa. Alternatively, at Alpe Vegnasca you can take the path that leads to Monti di Pianosto, above Avegno. On the other side of Cimetta and Trosa there is the beautiful Valle di Mergoscia. At Mergoscia you take the trail which leads to Porchesio. From there you follow the blue-white-blue signs to Pizzo Madone. Until the lost and wild place of Redrisc it isn't dangerous at all. From there you can get a trail which gets you to Faedo.
I finally have seen your greetings at the cableway in Cardada!

I think we already took this route. Or a similar one. I remember that we went from Madonna del Sasso to Monti della Trinita, Ai Sassi, Vardabella, Monte Brè, Miranda up to Cardada. But I'm not sure anymore about the exact route.
And once we did from Madonna del Sasso, Orselina, zigzag up to San Biaggio, San Bernardo, Cortaggio, Cardada, Alpe Cardada, Capanna Lo Stallone, Cimetta. This was a heavy one! We trained for our trek in Nepal.

Oh, the note at Cardada is still there!? Amazing!
