On rapporte que son appétit était extraordinaire. Il pouvait dévorer toute une jambe de mouton fort dodu, avec tous ses accompagnements, au cours d'un seul repas (!)

Et j'ajouterai que sa taille exceptionnelle lui permit de faire face à sa subsistance :
