Du château bâti sous Henri IV, au début du XVIIème siècle, ne subsistent que les deux pavillons d’entrée. Après un incendie, il fut reconstruit en 1783 par le comte de Bombelle en style néoclassique.

Sur le faîte de la grille de la Cour d'Honneur, Lord William Courtenay (propriétaire du château entre 1819 et 1835) fit apposer un blason représentant les armes qu'il avait adoptées.
