Près de St Etienne
Le Château de Rochetaillée du XIIe s culmine à 750 m d’altitude.
Appartenant à l’abbaye de Valbenoîte, il dépend ensuite de la famille de Jarez aux XIII et XIVe s et jouit d’une économie prospère.
Le château paie un lourd tribut aux guerres de religion du XVIe s, puis les ventes successives entre plusieurs grandes familles du XVIIe au XIXe s amorcent peu à peu sa ruine.
