Vastness

12 Jan 2014 55 53 673
I finally decided to give Ipernity a chance. For a long time I was not sure. After the closing down of Panoramio I did not want to waste time and effort. But ok, here I am again with a winterly scene in monochrome. Not really fine photo- technical quality. However this picture represents a bit of northern Norwegian nature. The vastness of nature makes man almost disappear. But can you imagine what a blast these guys have... FjordScape (Stone)

A typical view of a fjord landscape in northern Norway. The original edit was in sepia but B&W works too, I now think . You will find the high resolution image here: 1x.com/photo/626009 www.facebook.com/peter.vanlom Lonely Man Photography © All Rights Reserved. Made it to EXPLORE frontpage.

Cabin

20 Mar 2014 111 28 1898
A clear spring day. That means, still knee deep snow here in the north. A trip to 'Folkeparken' resulted in a few nice colourful pictures. This little part of the park deserved however a B&W edit. Blue Mountain

15 Mar 2013 105 49 1548
Long time no see.. According to the title this should be a blue mountain. And it was... The monochrome edit, I hope, is interesting too. The clear light and the low clouds were a good combination that day. Enjoy this northern norwegian mountain impression. Software: PSE12, PhotomatixEssentials. The Church

Telemark Serenity monochrome

21 Feb 2016 101 33 1535
Back to a winter landscape. The county Telemark is located in southeastern Norway, extending from Hardangervidda to the Skagerrak coast. The coastline extends from Langesundsfjorden to Gjernestangen at the border with Aust-Agder. Telemark has a very broken and heterogeneous landscape, including many hills and valleys.(Wikipedia) Lonely Man Photography © All Rights Reserved. Made it to EXPLORE frontpage.

Travel and see new things. Or; look around and find new angles. The next uploads will be monochrome edits. Some will be new uploads and some will be reedited photographs. I hope that the comming monochrome 'period' will be received favorably. This is a photograph of the library in Tromsø and the RAW file is processed with PSE12. Mood; Hamningberg

21 Jul 2015 118 59 1773
This is a view of the landscape along the road from Vardø to Hamningberg, Finnmark in northern Norway. This is a narrow road, basically one car width, surrounded by sharp rock formations. We drove there on a clouded summer day with Deep Purple loudly in the speakes. That was a fitting combination. Dear friends this is the last colour upload for the time being. As you see in the image above the colour fades into monochrome. The following uploads wil be monochrome images. I feel the need to go back to my 'roots' but now with totaly different editing tools. I hope you'll enjoy those as much as you do the colourful ones. You will find the high resolution image here: 1x.com/photo/1031773 Lonely Man Photography © All Rights Reserved. Autumn Impression..

24 Sep 2015 109 45 1401
The colours of autumn can be gorgeous. Not only nature but the light as well. This impression is from one of my favorite locations called Ersfjord. The light here changes all the time, from deep blue/white in spring to orange/red in autumn. And do not forget the greens of the northern light. Just find those photographes in my gallery. Enjoy the weekend. You will find the high resolution image here: 1x.com/photo/1017650 Lonely Man Photography © All Rights Reserved. Made it to EXPLORE frontpage.

# 15 Street Art Vardø; Pøbel

21 Jul 2015 68 38 1658
3 place (2016/06) group Contest Without Prize 'Street Art, Graffiti and Murals'. This is not the first place that comes to mind when thinking about street art. But in july 2012, Vardø hosted the world's northern most street art festival, curated by the artist Pøbel - KOMAFEST -. The purpose was to conceptualize the depopuation of northern Norway. Now three years later I tried to capture this art. At least most of the work. Some were already painted over and others I just did not find. One more image from my little project from last summer. Summer is closing in and who knows what kind of photographic surprises are in store for us. Male reindeer (bull) walking slowly uphill near the northern Norwegian village of Hamningberg. The male are still concerving energi for the fall. Beam me up, Scotty

02 Apr 2016 145 77 2533
2 place (2016/04) group Contest Without Prize 'The dispute of elements'. The northern light forecast was spot on for last saturday. After setting up on a scouted location, I had to relocate. The sky was too bright and the wind too strong. While driving by car to an other location the northern lights flaired up again and an 'emergency' stop was necessary. Setting up the equipment in a haste resulted in one on the most spectacular images that night. Kp-index 6. ISO-1600 / 10'' / 2.8 For more pictures taken this night look here; 1x.com/member/nordicscapes Lonely Man Photography © All Rights Reserved. Made it to EXPLORE frontpage.

Facing the Future

22 Mar 2000 71 34 1226
Impression of the Oslo Opera House. This is the statue of Kirsten Flagstad (1895-1962), first director of the Oslo Opera and opera singer, facing the Oslo Opera House (2008). The roof of the building angles to ground level, creating a large plaza that invites pedestrians to walk up and enjoy the panoramic views of Oslo. While much of the building is covered in white granite and La Facciata, a white Italian carrara marble, the stage tower is clad in white aluminum, in a design by Løvaas & Wagle that evokes old weaving patterns.(part from Wikipedia) Lonely Man Photography © All Rights Reserved. Transiency

02 May 2013 118 53 1586
Every one needs a good wreck... This is a wreck not far from Tromsø city center. A place to revisit many times. The weather changes, the light changes, the tide changes. Wreck info; "Oimara" the boats real name has been "stranded" 'of shoreline for nearly 100 years. The ship was built in England and was first used as Russian freight skip. The ship had a oak hull and iron pail, which meant that the ship was exceptionally strong built. After the revolution in Russia the ship came with refugees from Murmansk to Tromsø who eventually settled here. And the ship was left on Tomasjordneset in ca.1917-1927 where it became a residence for cormorants in Tromsø. Mood; Aurora Burst

08 Oct 2015 180 79 2864
High solar activity resulted in northern light across Europe, with up to 6 on the scale in norhern Europe. A sudden burst of activity during a 30'' exposure resulted in an over exposed image. But who cares if one is fortunate to experience a show like this.... You will find the high resolution image here: 1x.com/photo/1031770/all:user:505580 Lonely Man Photography © All Rights Reserved.
